Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity that has been created due to expansion. My client a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Operations where you will be the primary Operations Manager working with the R&D and Strategic Portfolio teams with the responsibility for driving operations of new product development, automation as well as supporting those products through production ramp up.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Managing the operations of the manufacturing plant producing circa 73 million pharmaceutical units annually.
- New Product Introductions, Volume Growth including site to site transfers and the introduction of new products at the site.
- Managing a budget circa of $16m.
- Managing a team – 179 Direct, 40 Indirect Resources.
- Responsible for leading, inspiring tactical day to day and strategic vision with long term plan, for site Operations.
- Responsible for proactively leading and improving issues impacting safety, compliance, output, business ethics, responsible sourcing etc.
- Completion of relevant deviation and compliant investigations to identify true root cause.
- Systems Thinking, LEAN, TPM - Proactively looking for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, influence decisions and deliver the results whilst ensuring an appropriate level of compliance.
This is a 12 months contract which the client will review for a possible extension however everything is dependent on the individual and business performance. The hourly PAYE rate is £50.57 per hour.
Skills: To apply for the role of Head of Manufacturing Operations you will have the following:
- Several years management experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution logistics environments: Ideally five of those at a senior level role, managing large scale operations.
- Strong financial business and commercial acumen.
- Direct employee management.
- Robust Operations financial acumen and business understanding, linking performance with financial outputs and considerations.
- End to End Lean background and demonstrable examples of driving efficiencies, cost reductions, waste reduction and opportunity identification.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced environment on fast paced projects.
- Change management, experience of transformational, culture change.
