Opportunity: Are you a Quality Control Manager looking for a new role? Have you managed a Chemistry and Microbiology lab in the testing of release, raw materials, stability and investigational testing of raw materials and finished products? If yes then this is the contract role for you.

My client a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced QC Manager to manage their microbiology and chemistry lab ensuring  that materials manufactured meets the registered specification and the test methods used are validated and compliant to the current pharmacopeia’s, GMP and the companies corporate requirements.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the execution of chemistry investigations on a plant-wide basis using Trackwise.
  • Initiating and driving Process Changes using the change control management process.
  • Maintaining and updating SOPs.
  • Reviewing data and test records to Pharmacopeia standards.
  • Supporting and encouraging the team with continuous improvements.
  • Responsible for maintaining external PM/repairs and reviewing reports.
  • Timely reporting of Non-Conformances, Exceptions and Changes.
  • Maintaining the stability program including reporting.
  • Maintaining the EHS program.
  • Ensuring testing is scheduled and executed to meet the batch release cycle time.
  • Responsible for Data Integrity and ALOCA+ within the Laboratory environment.
  • Responsible for the IOQ and validation of new instruments and methods within the QC footprint.

This is an approx. 6 months contract role which will be reviewed for a possible extension but everything is dependent on the individual and business performance.  The PAYE rate (inside IR35) is £26.24 per hour. 

Skills:  To apply for the role of Quality Control Manager you will have the following:

  • Microbiology and chemistry lab experience ideally within the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Preferably qualified to IOSHH.
  • Lean laboratory experience and proven ability to use and deploy lean tools.
  • Experience with Electronic Laboratory Information Management systems.
  • Experience with Data acquisition systems such as Empower3.
  • Experience in Data Integrity and ALCOA+
